What We Believe

What We Believe

Abundant Grace is a non-denominational charismatic church.  We are ordinary people who believe in an extraordinary God.

What we believe about:

The Bible:  We esteem the Bible as the revealed Word of God and seek to apply its truth to every realm of life.

God:  There is one true God who created all things and is sovereign over his creation.  He exists as One in three Persons: The Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus:  The only way to salvation is through faith in Christ Jesus. His birth was miraculous–by a virgin–through the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.  He is alive today and will return to judge the World; to reward each according to their deeds – whether good or bad.

Salvation:  We are saved by grace as a gift through faith in Christ Jesus as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins.  Genuine faith produces repentance, personal transformation, and obedience to God’s Word.

Water Baptism:  We baptize individuals upon the confession of their faith in Jesus Christ by immersing them in water, burying the old person and raising up a new individual who is united with the resurrection power of our Lord Jesus – dead to sin and alive to God!

Baptism with the Holy Spirit:  We believe the words of our Lord Jesus that “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8), and we pray for one another to experience this powerful infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Healing:  Jesus still heals the sick, and we pray for one another accordingly.

Worship:  We like to praise God as a church.  We believe in worshiping with a variety of instruments and expressions such as clapping and raising of hands.

The Church:  There is one global church with Jesus Christ as its head.  We value unity with other believers, praying and working with them in the city regardless of denominations.

The Local Church:  We believe that every church member is important and has something valuable to offer the rest of us.  We consider families as the foundation of a strong society; therefore we nurture and promote family life, marriage, and good parenting.  We value loving Jesus and becoming more like Him.
